6. School-based counseling and psycho-social education programs
BACF offers comprehensive, prevention-focused school-based
counseling and psycho-social education programs to schools serving
K through 12 students throughout Alameda and San Francisco Counties.
Services
on offer to school communities include:

One-on-one confidential,
individual counseling for students during school or after-school time

Small support groups for
students challenged by particular psychological, emotional and/or social
issues
·
Whole class interactive
psycho-social education to promote and improve social and emotional learning
and skills in the classroom

Class observation and
behavioral modification plans for individual students and teachers
·
Teacher support and
consultation
·
Crisis intervention and support
·
Parenting classes, seminars and
workshops
BACF endeavors
to provide a prevention-based model, offering whole class, teacher and parent
seminars on a range of topics that promote and support the healthy, social
and emotional development of every student/family participating. Issues
addressed include:

experiencing loss, grief or familial trauma
